Centuries-old formula is a combination of Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Supplement the Center & Boost the Qi Decoction) with Sheng Mai San (Engender the Pulse Powder), modified and enhanced to strengthen the three organs responsible for generating qi – the lung, spleen and kidney.

Chai Hu regulates the liver and resolves stagnation. The combination of Dang Gui and Bai Shao nourishes the blood and moistens the liver. Dang Gui moves qi, but also relaxes tension, spasms, or cramps. Essential for treating liver-qi stagnation with blood deficiency. Bai Zhu and Fu Ling strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness, promoting transport and transformation, strengthening the very source of qi and blood production. Bai Zhu drains dampness, while Fu Ling gently transforms it. Gan Cao (toasted) tonifies the qi and the center, also relaxing liver tension. Sheng Jiang harmonizes the center and eliminates dampness, and Bo He, in small amounts, assists Chai Hu in dispersing and resolving liver-qi stagnation.
