Ze Xie, with a neutral and sweet flavor, is cool in nature and eliminates dampness. It activates the bladder's urinary function, disinhibiting water, and eliminating dampness. Fu Ling and Zhu Ling also eliminate dampness, more gently, reinforcing the disinhibition of water. Bai Zhu is added to strengthen and tonify spleen qi and move and transform water. Gui Zhi has two functions: externally, it resolves tai yang. Internally, it supports bladder qi. The synergy of these five ingredients moves water and transforms qi.
